5 Must Haves for Summer Vacation

Economy Airport Parking in Ft LauderdaleSpring Break has come and gone. If yours was anything like the typical Spring Break, it was a hectic one. Your summer travels can be much more relaxed since you don’t have to worry about homework and school schedules. Now is the perfect time to begin thinking about where you and your family are headed. If you plan on enjoying that summer weather by spending a lot of time outdoors you will want to make sure you’re prepared. We’ve listed our top 5 toiletries we always have on hand. Use our list the next time you travel and don’t forget to reserve your economy airport parking in Ft Lauderdale at Self Park FLL.

Sunscreen

Of course that’s the number one item on our list. We love the sun in Ft Lauderdale, but you have to protect your skin. The Skin Cancer Foundation recommends an SPF of 15 or more for everyday. But on vacation you can expect to catch a lot more rays. For that type of exposure they recommend SPFs of 30 or more. If you bring nothing else, at least bring this. Don’t worry you’ll still get a tan even with that level of SPF. Our favorite is Neutrogena’s Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch. It comes in multiple SPF levels, even as high as 100+. And it’s lightweight enough to use as a facial moisturizer.

Lip Balm (Chapstick)

Don’t forget about your lips when it comes to protecting them from the sun. You’ll want one that does double duty- moisturizes and has SPF. Apply frequently to keep your lips from drying out.

Hydrating Spray

This is a must have regardless of your destination. It’ll perk you right up after a long flight when your skin has been deprived of the moisture it needs. And it will have you feeling refreshed during a summer trip when your skin can start to get chapped in the hot and dry weather. The gold standard for hydrating facial sprays is still from Evian. Use it anytime your skin is feeling dry.

Aloe Vera

No matter how careful you are to ensure that no one gets burnt, it might still happen. From a missed spot to too much time in the water, sunburn can seriously derail a vacation. You don’t want to have to stop everything to find a store or have to pay the outrageous prices at the hotel shop, so just pack some Aloe Vera. Even if you don’t end up needing it for a burn, it soothes bug bites and helps prevent chafing.

Dry Shampoo

If you haven’t started using dry shampoo yet, then this is the summer to try it. From an all over spray to a touch up on your bangs, dry shampoo will keep your hair looking fresh and feeling clean. You’ll have some days where you’ll be outside from morning until night. And if you want to get a nice dinner or snap a few photo you’ll be glad to have some dry shampoo on hand. A word of warning: Most dry shampoos spray on white. Just be prepared to brush it through thoroughly if you have dark hair. Our favorite is the Déjà Vu from L’Ange Hair, it’s a little pricey but they always have 50% off sales. For a more budget friendly option try Dove’s dry shampoo at your local drugstore.
