Did you know there are direct flights to Orlando from FLL Airport at amazing prices. It makes it really easy and more affordable than you think to use our Ft. Lauderdale Airport parking, hop on a flight, and enjoy a short weekend getaway to the theme parks. There’s nothing quite like having Disney World, Universal Studios, SeaWorld, and Legoland so close to us. Here are some of the tastiest and most fun treats that you’ll want to try, and post on your Instagram.
Mickey’s Kitchen Sink Sundae – Magic Kingdom
This ice cream sundae is unlike any other. It’s a showstopper. It comes with your choice of two scoops of ice cream, plus whipped cream, with your choice of hot fudge, peanut butter, or caramel, and two cherries. And served in a souvenir “kitchen sink” shaped like Mickey’s iconic red pants! You can find this at Plaza Ice Cream Parlor on Main Street.
Butterbeer – Wizarding World of Harry Potter
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter can be found in Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. Whether or not you are a die-hard fan, you have to try their Butterbeer. This non-alcoholic beverage is a tasty butterscotch treat throughout the year. In the summer, we recommend getting it frozen. And during the winter? You can snuggle up with some hot Butterbeer for a really decadent treat.
Mickey Pretzel – Disney World
There’s something special about having a traditional treat that looks like Mickey. The Mickey Pretzel is exactly that. It comes with cheese sauce for dipping, but yellow mustard makes a great topping as well. You can get this snack at any of the Disney World parks.
The Big Pink – Universal Studios
If you’re a donut fan, you cannot miss out on the Big Pink from Lard Lad Donuts. This little spot is a parody of Bob’s Big Boy chain of restaurants in the Simpsons universe. And here you can get the iconic glazed donut with pink frosting and sprinkles, with a twist. It’s huge. Big enough that you might want to consider eating it with a knife and fork.
Bonus: Food & Wine Festival – Epcot
Every year for a few months in the fall, Epcot hosts a Food & Wine Festival. All throughout the World Showcase you can find food stalls of new countries that aren’t at Epcot year round. We highly recommend looking at the menus before you go. It’ll give you an idea of what you want to try so you don’t become overwhelmed. In addition to the small bites, you can purchase adult beverages from those countries like prosecco from Italy or a craft beer from Belgium. So book your Ft. Lauderdale Airport parking today and head over to Orlando!
