Fall travel is here! We love to travel during the fall and escape the Florida heat. It’s so nice to be able to enjoy the foliage and dropping temperatures up north. And you can find some great deals on airfare during this time as well. If you’ve been eagerly anticipating fall travel as much as we have then you’ll want to pack these must haves.

Fall Travel

Weather Resistant Jacket

The whole point of fall travel is to enjoy the cooler temps! A weather resistant jacket is a must. Of course, you’ll need to check your destination’s forecast, but generally during autumn you can get away with a light jacket. Take one that’s easy to pack and can stand up to a light shower. Consider wearing it on your flight to save room in your luggage.

Hat (and maybe gloves)

There’s never a lot of opportunity to wear a wool hat or beanie in Florida. Take this opportunity to rock a hat. Not only will it easily change up your outfit looks, it’ll help keep you warm. Packing a pair of gloves depends on two things: 1. Are you a person that gets cold easily? 2. Do you want an excuse to use your gloves? If you said yes to either of those then pack a pair of gloves. They also have ones that will work with your smart devices if you need a new pair.

Allergy Medication

Fall allergies are no joke. Even if there’s nothing down here irritating them, you may be exposed to others when you travel. You’ll want to pack a small supply of non-drowsy allergy medication in your personal item. While you’ll be able to find allergy medication at your final destination, it’ll be nice to have it on hand to fight the symptoms as soon as you arrive.

Moisturizer and Lip Balm

Cooler weather often means dry conditions. You don’t want to suffer from chapped skin or lips. Pack at least a good face moisturizer and lip balm. Consider bringing some lotion as well if you’re staying at a VRBO or AirBNB as they may not provide it.

Sunscreen

This one could have gone in the above category, but it’s so important that we wanted to single it out. With the heat gone you may not realize how much sun exposure you’re getting. Fall activities are often times outdoors with apple picking, hiking, tailgating, and window shopping. Sunscreen is just as important up north as it is in Ft. Lauderdale.
