If you’re looking for a fun trip with the girls or the guys, you’ll want to head to Nashville. Music City is well known for their highlights: the Grand Ole Opry, the Country Music Hall of Fame, Broadway Street, and Tootsies. But there’s so much more to Nashville. While you can certainly take an impromptu visit and have an amazing time, if you want to make sure you don’t miss anything here’s our list of the Best Things to Do in Nashville.

Tour the City
Unlike your standard bus tours or walking tours, Nashville’s city tours are quirky, fun, and not to miss. You can pedal down Broadway on a huge party bike with 14 other people, check out the art scene with an art walk, or try out the Nashville Pub Crawl. Each one is unique. It is the perfect way to start your trip in Nashville. You never know who you’ll meet!
Listen to the Music
You don’t need to score tickets to the Grand Ole Opry to hear amazing music in this town. In fact, the live music starts when you land at Nashville International Airport. While you can find some amazing bands performing in almost every bar, there are a couple of unique showcases that are a real treat. The most famous songwriter venue is The Bluebird Café. It’s small, always packed, and surprise guests often drop in. Their Monday shows are always on a first come, first served bases. They do occasionally offer other first come, first served shows through out the week, but most of it is by reservation only. And trust us, you have to get there veryearly if you don’t have a reservation. Our personal favorite is The Listening Room Café. While you eat and drink at this hip restaurant you’ll be treated to showcases by some of the up and coming talent in Nashville. Check out their page to see their upcoming events and to book tickets. Either way, songwriting showcases are one of the things to do in Nashville that you just can’t do everywhere else.
Take a Distillery Tour
Nashville has been distilling some topnotch whiskey for years. You can take a guided tour to some of the local distilleries or head to a few on your own. Most offer tours throughout the day with plenty of sampling included. Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery and Corsair Distillery are right in Nashville or you could drive out a little ways to the George Dickel Distillery in Tullahoma or the Jack Daniel’s Distillery in Lynchburg.
Visit a Museum
You won’t be disappointed with a visit to the Country Music Hall of Fame. In fact, you could spend a full day in there, but it’s not the only one worth visiting. The various museums in Nashville always rank as some of the best things to do in Nashville. There’s a Johnny Cash museum right off Broadway and on the second story you’ll find the Patsy Cline museum. The Frist Art Museum is a must for Fine Art fans. For U.S. history buffs, you’re in luck. Nashville is home to the Tennessee State Museum.
