Flying in First Class isn’t the only way you can partake in an enjoyable in-flight cocktail. There are many ways you can transform that little bottle of straight alcohol into a tasty drink. And with the conditions in economy and basic economy, you deserve that cocktail. Here’s our In-Flight Cocktail Recipe Guide that you’ll want to have on your next flight.

Whiskey Sour
This is one of the easiest cocktails to make. It’s just whiskey, a splash of lemon juice, and a bit of sugar. Mix and serve over ice.
Irish Coffee
For this you’ll want to ask the attendant for a coffee with plenty of creamer and sugar packets, and a bottle of whiskey. Add one ounce of whiskey and both the creamer and sugar to taste. Be gentle with the creamer and sugar as you can always add more, but you’re in a tough spot if you add too much. If your airline offers it, you can make an even easier version by simply adding Bailey’s Irish Cream to your coffee.
Spiced Bloody Mary

When the plain tomato juice and vodka they give you isn’t enough, it’s easy to spice it up without paying extra for a Bloody Mary mixer. Simply add some salt and pepper for flavor and hot sauce for that extra kick. (See if you can get hot sauce packets at the food court). If you can, see if they have a fresh lemon wedge so you can add a splash of lemon juice.
Moscow Mule
You can still enjoy a Moscow Mule even if your airline doesn’t have ginger beer. It’s easy to make. Over ice mix vodka and club soda with a splash of lime and ginger ale.
Simple Sangria
When you’re in the mood for wine, but the airline’s choices are dismal, a simple sangria recipe can do the trick. Order a red wine and mix it with orange juice and cranberry juice over ice. (You can even make a white version with a sweet white wine, a splash of apple juice, and club soda. You can even use prosecco or ginger ale in place of the club soda. If they only have a dry white wine add sugar for that sweet sangria taste.) Bonus if you order a fresh fruit cup and add some fruit to your sangria.
Modified Margarita

Unless you travel with a small bottle of sweet and sour, this modified margarita will do as an in-flight cocktail. Simply mix tequila with orange juice and a splash of Sprite over ice. You can even ask the flight attendants if they have a fresh lime wedge.
The Poor Man’s Mojito
Mojito purists should stop reading now, as this recipe is pretty much blasphemous. However, if you want that refreshing feeling and don’t have mint or sugar cane, this can do in a pinch. Just add equal parts Sprite and club soda over ice. Top with white rum.
Pack Your Own Mixers
If you really want a high-quality in-flight cocktail, you carry on a few simple ingredients that will completely transform your beverage. Consider packing a bottle of bitters to create your own Old Fashioned or Champagne Cocktail. Ginger syrup is great to amp up the Moscow Mule. And you can’t go wrong with cherries, lime juice, or hot sauce. Just make sure they’re under the limit for TSA or pick them up at the airport food court.
